NEW! Skincare Products I’ve Been Loving in 2021

Hello there, it’s been a while! Let’s start over with a new blog post about the new skincare that has landed in my collection.

I haven’t been accepting a lot of PR or buying products lately because my collection is too much for one face, but I did find some new gems here and there. Enjoy your read.

New skincare products in my collection

First of all, the new skincare I’ll be talking about is a mix of western and Asian although you’ll probably notice that I lean towards the Asian one. It never disappoints!

107 Chaga Jelly Cleanser

Oh dear, where do I even begin? This is IT. The ONE. The ONLY. Above all, thank you so much to bemusedkorea for making me discover this brand. Their Dewy Glow Serum Mist and their Everyday Plump Hydro Cream are so lovely, but I truly fell in love with the Chaga Jelly Cleanser.

The 107 Chaga Jelly Cleanser has a low pH of 5.0 and is very gentle. As the name suggests, it has a jelly texture that transforms into a gentle non-stripping foam with a refreshing green tea-citrusy scent. The most interesting part though is that 107 has a proprietary ingredient – the 7 years naturally fermented vinegar – and of course, this whole line has this ingredient. It’s rich in vitamins and postbiotics (the waste that the yeast leaves behind, i.e. lactic acid is a postbiotic). This ingredient helps to very gently exfoliate the skin, removing any impurities, and also provides antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory defences. A lot of “anti”.

Oh, and it also has Chaga Mushroom extract, duh, as the name says it – Chaga Jelly Cleanser. This extract helps improve skin tone and elasticity.

What I fell in love with is the experience of clean and non-stripped skin. And when I mean non-stripped it’s extraordinarily non-stripped. It feels like cleansing with a moisturizer. I think I said that about some other products, but I truly mean it. It’s so far from the squeaky or almost squeaky post-wash skin. My fingers glide as if I just finished my routine. And don’t start me on the glow it leaves behind.

One Thing Niacinamide 10%

This new skincare product is the bomb! Why buy niacinamide serums when you can have the One Thing Niacinamide 10% in a 150ml bottle! Personally, I’m never buying a niacinamide serum again. You know what niacinamide is right? That magical vitamin b ingredient soothes the skin, improves texture and tone, balances oil production, reduces blemishes, strengthens the skin barrier. That one. In a 150ml bottle. Can I stress enough that it’s in a 150ml bottle? With minimal ingredients, no fragrance, no alcohol, no essential oils aaaaaand inexpensive.

The One Thing Niacinamide 10% is designed to be used together with their other products, added to another serum or moisturiser in your skincare routine, or by itself. I personally love to use this one by itself as an essence. I’m halfway through the bottle already, and I have noticed such an improvement. My skin is more radiant and even-toned. It looks healthier by the day.

I think that it’s quite clear that what I love the most about this product is its volume, minimal formulation, and how inexpensive it is.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

So happy to report that I finally tried the First Aid Beauty Instant Oatmeal Mask. And then I heard they are discontinuing it. As a result, I’ll have to run and get some more.

As you might know, or not, First Aid Beauty has an emphasis on colloidal oatmeal, which is a very soothing ingredient, great for dry and dehydrated skin, as well as acne-prone. It is essentially, oatmeal ground into a fine powder and added to a liquid medium. It is non-irritating, it moisturises the skin and also protects our skin barrier.

The First Aid Beauty Instant Oatmeal Mask really smells and has the texture of oatmeal. Let me tell you, it really is amazing. My skin is so moisturised and looks plump and healthy after this mask. The renovations in the house (follow them on my Instagram) are so tough for my skin, especially when it comes to sanding – the powder sucks all the moisture out of my skin. Not only my face but also any other exposed skin. As a result, the First Aid Beauty Instant Oatmeal Mask is magic for my poor skin.

Meta Foret 12PM Calming Sunscreen SPF 50+

First of all, I want to say that I was sceptical about this Meta Foret 12PM Sunscreen. I have never heard of the brand nor seen it in anyone else’s posts. They reached out to me on Instagram and after deliberating on it I decided to give it a try. And I fell in love with the product.

It is a hybrid sunscreen, meaning that it combines both physical and chemical filters for optimal protection against UVA and UVB rays. In addition to that, it has cypress leaf extract, aloe vera leaf extract and Centella Asiatica leaf extract, which make it suitable for sensitive/dry/dehydrated skin types. The Meta Foret 12PM Sunscreen has a thick, creamy texture, but it glides effortlessly and leaves a healthy glow behind. Not the greasy type of glow, but really “I just applied highlighter” which I adore. I have been reaching for it time and time again even though I have several sunscreens to choose from. It also feels very moisturising and comfortable, and most of all, it doesn’t leave a white cast and it doesn’t peel on me. Hallelujah!

Jolse stocks it and you bet I’ll be purchasing it with my own money. It reminds me of the Purito Sunscreen (the one in the scandal, not the new one, haven’t tested that one yet).

Anyway, get it!
