NuFace Mini Device Review: How to Make Yourself Look Younger

Whenever I post a photo with the NuFace mini device somewhere in it, I immediately get tons of questions about it. I figured making a dedicated Instagram NuFace mini device review would satisfy everyone’s curiosity. But why not take it a step further and go in-depth on the little precious device on my new platform!

Disclaimer: recommendations are based on my own experiences and one product might work for me but not for you. Please do your research to further decide if this is something you wish to try.

NuFace mini microcurrent facial device review :

I have acquired this little gem about one and a half year ago. It was a very calculated decision. I have spent hours researching and doubting. I went through all the negative and positive reviews. The 20% off was very tempting but was it worth the price?

Yes. Yes it was.

What is micro current?

The NuFace mini facial toning device uses microcurrent to give a younger appearance to your face. According to their own website, “Microcurrent is a low-level current that mimics the body’s natural current.” It is safe to use and in my experience, painless.

The microcurrent stimulates the facial muscles, toning and lifting them, much like a gym session for your body. Once the muscles are toned, the skin follows. This allows diminishing sagginess, fine lines and wrinkles, and the double chin effect. You can also use the device on the neck if that is a problem area. I often forget to because I have no problems there, but it’s better to prevent than treat.

Collagen and elastin production can also be stimulated by the microcurrent. These two proteins start depleting in our twenties, which ultimately starts the process of ageing. So any extra is of good help.

How to use the NuFace mini toning device?

The NuFace website and YouTube channel offer a dozen of tutorials from a 5minute session to a 15minutes one. I have combined several of their methods into one session that I do every other day. That is also an important point, as the device needs to be used regularly. 60 days in the beginning and 3 times a week after, to maintain the results.

I have seen through my research that some people didn’t like the constant use and argued that it didn’t get them salon results. In my opinion, salon tools are more powerful and are used by professionals. The Nuface mini device is more adapted for the general public, with no risks to your health.

I have struggled with sagginess of my cheeks, my upper lip and my eyebrows. I have hooded eyes and dropping eyebrows don’t help in that matter. So these are the key areas I try to treat. I work in sections, chin first, then cheeks, then front and eyebrows.

Simply follow the contours of your face and make sure you use lifting motions.

Technicalities

The device has 3 settings to choose from, low, medium, and high intensity.

I use it on the high setting given that I have experience now. You might want to start low if you’re afraid of the current. In the beginning, you will feel it go through your skin. Also, hair is conductive! I learnt it the hard way.

The device beeps when it’s time to move to another part of your face. And it shuts down after 5minutes, but that’s ok, just turn it back on and continue.

If you are debating between the mini and the Trinity, it all comes down to your goals. The Trinity has interchangeable heads, with one similar to the mini (exactly the same use), one for the delicate eye and lip area, and one for red led light that stimulates collagen production. Personally I have not regretted getting the mini.

To buy or not to buy the NuFace Gel Primer?

The device comes with a NuFace Hydrating Leave-On Gel Primer 2fl oe/59ml. I debated a lot on the necessity of having their gel in my routine. I wondered whether if I find an alternative it will hinder my results. Many reviews said that the gel made them breakout. If you too are afraid of that, make sure to wash it off.

I figured I will experiment with aloe vera gel, as many others have done. If it didn’t work I could always repurchase the gel. Surprise-surprise, it worked out wonderfully. Highly recommend the Aromatica Organic Aloe Vera Gel. It is thick and it comes in a 300ml bottle that will last you ages.

In conclusion

I call this device my precious.

As I have mentioned on my Instagram post (follow me!), whenever I go on a long vacation I skip on taking it with me and then regret it. When I look in the mirror I can see that my face misses that lift. I try not to slack off because I love the results, and it only takes me 10 minutes!

I hope you enjoyed this NuFace mini device review.
